To be honest, had I not read Joanna Hathaway's Dark of the West prior to this one, A Curse So Dark and Lonely might've been a five-star read. But Dark of the West was so spectacularly well-written, and the plot so intricate, that it's now the new standard to which I uphold YA fantasy. Nevertheless, I really liked A Curse So Dark and Lonely.
